It’s a big week in an already busy period for business aviation service providers in California as the state welcomes this year’s Super Bowl to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Locally-based ACI Jet, a Bombardier-authorised service facility, has increased staffing at its locations and positioned four mobile AOG (aircraft-on-ground) teams to ensure coverage across southern California.
David Jensen, senior vice president, Aircraft Maintenance, told CJI: “We are essentially adding about 1.5-2x the manpower we normally have. Another factor is that we are the only [authorised] Bombardier parts depot on the West Coast and we happen to be just a short drive from the LA area.”
ACI Jet is also upping staff levels at its warehouse operations, including parts runners and transportation. The firm is offering same-day parts delivery for Bombardiers, as well as Cessna Citations, to most southern California locations in the days around the Super Bowl.
“Our parts staff will on site from Friday through Monday to make sure they can process all of the orders. If somebody needs something immediately, it means we can put it in a vehicle and get it down to southern California,” added Jensen.
The team at ACI Jet are accustomed to reallocating to various locations across state for various events, however Jensen said this is the first time doing so in Orange County.
