Airwolf Aerospace has received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) approval for the installation of True Blue Power TB17 lithium-ion batteries for five makes and 10 models of helicopters.

FAA STC SR04637CH

Airwolf Aerospace lithium-ion STC kits are now FAA STC approved and in stock for:

  • Airbus H125/AS350, AS355, H120, H130/EC130
  • Bell 206A/B, 206L/L1/L3/L4
  • Enstrom 480B
  • Hiller UH-12E
  • MD 369/500

Airwolf would like as many operators as possible to benefit from the Lithium-ion technology, so the STC allows installation of the battery in H125 helicopters in the baggage compartment, the large door tail cone, and the small door aft tail cone positions.

The Airwolf kits come complete with battery, mounting hardware and Airwolf annunciator and are easy to install with no major modifications to the aircraft required.

The field-proven technical standard order (TSO)-certified True Blue Power TB17 lithium-ion battery provides significant advantages including:

Lower weight: Up to 63 percent lighter, increases your useful load

Faster, cooler engine starts: Higher voltage for powerful starts

Longer life: Eight-year average

Reduced maintenance: Two-year maintenance cycle

Extreme cold capable: Automatic built-in heater

Airwolf Aerospace is a leader in lithium-ion helicopter battery installations with more applications than any other company. They said they are very pleased to be able to offer helicopter operators the benefits of lithium-ion power.  Look for more Airwolf STCs for more helicopter applications and additional battery models soon.
