AirX opens its Jet Support division to all

John Matthews, AirX Chairman announced that its Jet Support division based at both London Luton Airport and London Stansted Airport, are now open to all aircraft owners and operators.

Matthews said: “AirX Jet Support opened over four years ago when we purchased Hamlin Jet Services tasked with maintaining our growing fleet. Running one of Europe’s busiest charter companies we wanted a different approach to maintenance of our aircraft. AirX Jet Support’s focus is on transparent billing, pre-agreed fixed cost agreements and working within strict timelines. I believe a lot of owners/operators will appreciate this methodology.”

Holding both Maltese and UK Part-145 licences AirX Jet Support can maintain Bombardier Challenger 300, 600, 604, 850 or an Embraer 145/Legacy 600/650 or ERJ 190/Lineage 1000. The straightforward approach we take is born out of the frustrations of the relentlessly questionable invoices we received including parts handling/shipping, “AOG/Urgent” costings, stores fee, an entire batch of clips/sealant/oil when a fraction had been used as well as towing fees and labour hours that did not correspond to job tasks.

The AirX fleet comprises of Embraer Legacy 600/650, Embraer 190/Lineage and Challenger 850. Matthews was very proud that the team recently completed a full 144 month check on 9H-JPC, a Legacy 600, considerably under budget and weeks before the deadline, including a new interior.

AirX are one of Europe’s most active operators and as such they saw the necessity of building an in-house aircraft maintenance division in order to control the unjustifiable costs of third-party organisations. Matthews have always wanted to build a maintenance facility and begin third party servicing, not only because it would be our own customer but because the company could build strong relationships with friendly competition and private owners, by offering available slots in between our in-house heavy checks.

AirX Jet Support operates transparently – we set fixed timelines and budgets and stick to them.”
