Bestfly has acquired Austria-based MS Aviation in a bid to expand its operations to Europe. The Austrian aircraft asset management will relocate its offices to Graz, Austria following the acquisition.

Nuno Pereira, Chairman and CEO, Bestfly said the move was part of the African brokerage’s focus on expanding in the European and Caribbean markets.

“Leveraging our recent additions to our executive board, we are executing this expansion strategy in multiple phases,” said Pereira. “MS Aviation gives us a further foothold in Europe from where we will expand the existing corporate aircraft management services, add another link to our current European VIP charter business, and further establish a broader structure of commercial aircraft ACMI solutions.”

For Michael Mayer, accountable manager, MS Aviation, the acquisition by Bestfly is another step to growing the capabilities of MS Aviation.

“We are already engaged in the evaluation of various commercial aircraft types to be added to our business aviation expertise,” said Mayer. “We have good experience on Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Dassault business jets so this is yet another area of efficiency that will be added to Bestfly’s operations in Europe.”

Founded in Angola in 2009, Bestfly has since expanded its presence into Aruba, Portugal, Cape Verde, Austria, United Arab Emirates, Congo, Guyana, and Senegal with a fleet of 27 aircraft.

The firm is also a founding member of the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) and a current member of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA).
