Marquis Who’s Who, the world’s premier publisher of biographical profiles, recently presented Bruce L. Marshall with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Marshall celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Marshall, having excelled as the executive vice president and general counsel at AIC Title Service in Oklahoma City since 2014, is a talented air transportation executive and attorney who has remained active in the field for nearly four decades. In his current position, his main responsibility is in ensuring that AIC’s clients and leaders are secure as they endure unexpected Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) changes and other industry developments, while also offering savings and a streamlined process for clients. Mr. Marshall also serves as a frequent speaker or panelist at aviation industry events where he has taught classes on the subject of registering aircraft in the U.S. Established in 1989, AIC Title Service has notably become a well-known and respected aviation title and escrow service provider in the country that registers, documents, insures and aids in the private sales of civil aircraft.

A career in aviation that began in 1995, Mr. Marshall was a corporate counsel, business manager and human resources director for Grand Aire Inc., a senior director of legal services and division general counsel for Flexjet and an assistant secretary for the Bombardier Aerospace Corporation. He was also the vice president of Great Lakes Bancorp from 1991 to 1995, the second largest savings bank in the state, where he handled litigation, workouts and commercial loan transactions. Additionally, Mr. Marshall was an associate attorney for three private law firms throughout Michigan between 1982 and 1991, during which he represented banks, construction, transportation companies, and employee benefits funds in commercial litigation matters.

Aligned with several civic organisations in support of his career, Mr. Marshall has been a member of the advisory board of the Better Business Bureau in Toledo, Ohio, since 1987 and is a former board director of the Macomb County Young Lawyers Association in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Other community involvement to his credit has included former roles as an assistant scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America in White Lake Township, Michigan, as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in Collin County, Texas, and as a foster for Harbored Souls Rescue in Fort Worth, Texas.

To prepare for his career, Mr. Marshall received Bachelor of Science in general management, marketing, and finance at Purdue University in 1977, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence at Michigan State University College of Law in 1982. He has been admitted to practice law by the Michigan Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. He is also a certified professional human resource manager. Mr. Marshall recently released an article in the June 2020 edition of AVBuyer Magazine, “Whose Plane is it Anyway?: FAA Tasked to Address Fraud and Abuse in Aircraft Registrations.” A highly acclaimed publication, the magazine offers readers the most current data, trends and insights to those in the global business aviation community.

Mr. Marshall has been a member of numerous pertinent organizations, including the Oklahoma Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Texas General Counsel Forum, and the Lawyer-Pilot Bar Association. He is also a member of the Aviation Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, an organization he chaired for the years 2011-2012 and 2018-2019. During the course of his career, Mr. Marshall has received many awards from organisations dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of general counsel and their legal departments including, the Texas General Counsel Forum, the American Corporate Counsel Association, Texas Lawyer, and the First Chair Awards. A celebrated Marquis listee, Mr. Marshall has been featured in the 31st edition of Who’s Who in Finance and Industry.
