Aircraft cyber security startup, Cyviation has raised an initial $4m ahead of its series A opening due for 2024. 

The firms claims to be the first cybersecurity company focusing on aircraft security by providing “multiple layers of resilience”. These range from fleet assessment and aircrew training to what s knows as aviation SIEM, aka aircraft cyber event management.

Arik Arad, Cyviation’s chairman said: “It’s not a question of if, but when an aircraft will fall prey to a cyber-attack. We must consistently remain ahead of attackers, anticipating and neutralising threats before they manifest.”

It also recently reached commercial stage of what it calls its SkyRay solution ahead of schedule. Cyviation said it is already in talks with commercial airlines, OEMs and regulatory agencies. One pioneer customer is aircraft management and charter firm, Polaris Aviation Solutions.

Cyviation’s continuous, non-intrusive fleet assessment capabilities evaluate and map aircraft vulnerabilities. The assessment process includes threat impact analysis, recommended mitigations and cyber resiliency to bolster and safeguard passenger and crew safety from malicious attacks, said the firm.
