Dassault orders up but deliveries down

Orders are up but deliveries are down at Dassault in the first half of 2021. The French OEM delivered six Falcon jets during the first half of 2021 and booked 25 new aircraft orders. This compares to 16 deliveries and five orders in the same period in 2020.

Falcon orders amounted to €1.413m in the first half of 2021, compared €669m throughout the same period last year. However, Falcon net sales for the first half of this year amounted to €702m, down from €1.06m in 2020. Leaving a book-to-bill ratio of 1.26 for the first half of 2021.

The Falcon backlog currently stands at €2.859m, compared to €2.147m at the end of 2020. This consists of 53 Falcon, including the nine mission aircraft for the AVSIMar and Archange programmes.

Dassault CEO, Eric Trappier, said: “The business aviation market showed encouraging signs of improvement, particularly with the recovery of air travel in the US. Nevertheless, we note that price pressures remain. The pre-owned business jet market is buoyant.”

The period also saw Dassault make the Falcon 6X maiden flight, a resumption of Falcon orders, reveal the Falcon 10X and put its first orders in the book.
