Embraer delivered eight executive jets in the first quarter (Q1) of this year and is offering 150 jobs at its Melbourne, Florida facility.
Executive jet deliveries in the first quarter included six light jets, including five Phenom 300s and one Phenom 100, and two midsize jets, which were two Praetor 600s.
During Q1 Embraer delivered a total of 14 jets, including six commercial aviation jets. (See table). The manufacturer confirmed its firm order backlog totalled $17.3bn on March 31st 2022.
Last year Embraer delivered 56 Phenom 300 series light jets and 93 executive jets in total, it said. The Phenom 300 series has had an annual average of 50 aircraft delivered per year since entering the market in December 2009, according to the OEM.
The company, headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil, has also lunched a recruitment campaign to fill more than 150 job vacancies at its Melbourne, Florida facility. Vacant roles include: assembly technicians, airframe and/or powerplant (A&P) technicians, aircraft painters, quality inspectors and manufacturing engineers.
Opened in 2011, Embraer’s Melbourne facility is the headquarters of its Executive Jets unit. It houses the assembly line for the Phenom 100EV and the Phenom 300E. Employees also work on the final assembly of the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600.
