GlobeAir's flights to become bookable on online platforms worldwide

Private jet operator GlobeAir’s flights will soon be available to book on worldwide booking platforms, such as Skyscanner, for popular routes including London City-Amsterdam, Geneva-Paris, and Munich-Hamburg. This is being made possible through integration with the Global Distribution System (GDS), powered by WorldTicket (WT).

GlobeAir aims to fill the gap left by airliners which are expected to operate only 40% of their usual number by January 2021, according to the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROcontrol)

“Just with the push of a button, we are providing a safer alternative for some of the most in-demand flight routes across Europe thanks to our flight availability and impeccable customer service,” said Bernhard Fragner, CEO GlobeAir.

To help travellers during the Covid-19 crisis, GlobeAir will be offering flights under the International Air Transport Association (IATA) airline code ‘W2’on more than 550,000 travel providers worldwide including Skyscanner, Expedia and Opodo.

“We are therefore extremely pleased to work with GlobeAir on this pioneering project and to be able to sell their flights through all leading GDS providers,” said Lasse Meilsoe, CEO, WorldTicket. “The innovation that GlobeAir has brought so far is the same innovation that enabled us to develop this unique GDS distribution functionality. We look forward to a long-lasting partnership.”

According to research by GlobeAir, private jet flights can reduce the touchpoints exposing passengers to the risk of contagion to 20, and thus lower the probability of infection for travellers by 97%. This figure compared with 700 touchpoints when flying commercial airlines.

“Being listed on the GDS systems is an opportunity to meet the demand for alternative flight options due to the decline in commercial flight schedules and to fill the gaps,” said Dieter Pammer, director of Business Development, GlobeAir.

GlobeAir has plans to take advantage of the centralised booking systems, which sell approximately seven out of 10 airline tickets via GDS with Amadeus, Sabre, Worldspan and Galileo. For a one-way flight on October 11th, it currently costs €5,970 from London City-Amsterdam, in one of GlobeAir’s Cessna Citation Mustang C510s.
