Halo Aviation will be the launch customer for 200 of Eve Air Mobility’s electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Deliveries are expected to start in 2026.

Eve – Embraer’s urban air mobility arm – will work with Halo to bring UAM services to the UK and US.

Under the terms of this agreement, Halo will work with Eve to develop a new eVTOL operation in both countries.

And our background as operators has taught us that product support is absolutely vital to the overall success of new programmes.”

Andre Stein, president and CEO of Eve Urban Air Mobility, said: “Halo is aligned with our mission to create comprehensive UAM solutions and this order marks an important milestone for Eve in key markets.”

Halo Aviation founder Will Fanshawe recently told our sister title Helicopter Investor: “As a helicopter company, we want to be in a position to fly and operate eVTOLs as and when they become certified.”

Eve is currently leading a consortium that is solving the regulatory and operational issues to bring eVTOL operations to London. The partnership will be one of the first operators to test the city through the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Innovation Sandbox programme.

The two companies will also partner on developing Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management system.

Ricci added: “The work that Eve and Embraer have completed around their traffic management system is just one more example of how uniquely positioned Eve is to help us deliver on our vision.”

Eve’s eVTOL design completed the first flight of its engineering simulator in July 2020 and proof of concept in October 2020. Eve is using the expertise of both Embraer and Atech, a subsidiary of the Embraer Group, to realise its air traffic management software.
