London

London Biggin Hill Airport is opening applications for its Air Ground Operations Apprenticeship Scheme, following the graduation of its first group of apprentices in 2020.

Run in conjunction with East Surrey College, trainees will learn their craft by assisting with daily operations in the hangar and on the ramp, moving aircraft and supporting the rescue and firefighting service.

Barry Sargeant, head of airfield operations, London Biggin Hill Airport says: “I am extremely proud of our 2020 graduates who have committed to the fantastic world of business aviation. I wish them every success in their new careers here at London Biggin Hill.

“In spite of the challenging times we face, I am delighted to announce applications are now open for the apprenticeship scheme again, with five new places available from April 2021. It is important to us to support the growth of our industry and provide opportunities for the local community and I look forward to welcoming the new recruits in the Spring.”
