Luxaviation creates new sustainability role

Luxaviation Group has created a new head of Sustainability role to position sustainability as a “cornerstone” of the groups ’corporate strategy.

Patrick Hansen, group CEO, said: “We are committed to creating added value for our customers, employees and investors and do so in full consideration of our responsibilities toward the environment and society. Our long-term business prospects, and those of our clients, are tied to a sustainable planet.”

In 2007 the Luxaviation Group partnered with MyClimate to become one of the first private jet operators to offer a carbon offset programme. Since then, LuxAviation has added electrified ramp vehicles, explored the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and digitised processes to reduce paper waste.

Hansen said: “We therefore choose to integrate sustainability into our decision-making process, actively tackle social and environmental concerns that surround our business and continuously seek to improve our ways of operating. We realise that this matters to our clients and strive to offer a sustainable journey, both on the ground and in the air.”

The company said it will adopt an “open book policy” publishing a yearly sustainability report to share its progress. Luxaviation is also supporting the first Business Aviation Summit on Sustainable Aviation fuel organised by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), being held virtually tomorrow (April 20th), with its new head of Sustainability Nicolas Kroll on the panel to discuss the adoption of SAF.
