Metrojet team awarded multiple NBAA Safety Awards

Hong Kong-based Metrojet has been awarded multiple safety awards by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). These include the Aviation Maintenance Department Safety Award and the Corporate Business Flying Safety Award. A number of people in the team were also individually recognised.

Metrojet has flown 63,150 consecutive hours with no incidents or accidents since 2007, for which it won the Aviation Maintenance Department Safety Award and the Corporate Business Flying Safety Awards. Captains Michael Palmer and Peter Lawrie, engineers Arcel Diaz and James Ma, and dispatcher Frances Pang were awarded individual safety awards. These were given for operating business aircraft or providing professional maintenance/dispatcher services without an accident.

CEO Gary Dolski said: “At Metrojet, safety takes precedence over all business activities. We have a 24-year history of accident-free operations.”

Dolski told Corporate Jet Investor the company recently is looking at an expansion in the region in a few months. “Because there is an opportunity and when the market is down it’s the time to see what we can do. We are always looking at expanding our fleet,” said Dolski.

Metrojet recently teamed up with cloud-based data platform provider, Portside, to offer aircraft management clients to review integrated information in one place.
