Planning a bespoke ACJ TwoTwenty cabin? Visit the new design studio

Not quite sure how to plan the precise cabin layout of your new bespoke Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJ) TwoTwenty? Then, help is at hand in the form of the new ACJ TwoTwenty Creative studio in Toulouse, France.

Opened last week, the new studio is equipped with a full-size section of the ACJ TwoTwenty cabin. It also features the latest virtual reality headset technology to enable prospective buyers and their agents to customise the cabin and its layout to their personal needs.

Sylvain Mariat, head of Creative Design, told media attending the opening: “The design [of the ACJ TwoTwenty cabin] is something like a nice, quiet flat in a building in New York. You can seat up to six people at the table and there are up to 11 sleeping positions and room for up to 19 passengers.”

Mariat is referring to the ACJ TwoTwenty’s 785 sq ft (73m sq m) of floor space – said to be double the space and volume of any competitor aircraft. The model is the only business jet featuring six wide VIP living areas, of around 130 sq ft (12 m sq) each and is at a price point of an ultra-long range business jet, according to the OEM.

To tailor the cabin space available to prospective customers’ needs, the new design studio is planned to be a one-stop-shop for interior design. The full-size section of the ACJ TwoTwenty cabin contracts at the touch of a button to enable visitors to visualise the size of competitors’ smaller business jet cabins.

You can even take a virtual reality (VR) tour of your preferred cabin design, exploring everything from cabin configurations and bed sizes to the bathroom and shower compartment. (A particularly intriguing feature of the VR technology even enables visitors in the bar area to pick up and hold cocktail glasses – although sadly not to sample their contents).

Customers can explore different layout ideas and review a wide range of furnishing options to design their perfect cabin. The choice includes hundreds of soft natural fabrics, plush carpets, smooth wood veneers and plated metal finishings. Visitors can review colours under different lighting before selecting schemes for seating, carpets and walls or the wood effects and finishes for the handcrafted cabinets. The signature cabin catalogue includes three cabin ambiances and a special edition configuration inspired by French painter and graffiti artist Cyril Kongo.

Mobile versions of the Creative Studio will be available in North America to help guide buyers’ cabin plans before the first demonstrator model becomes available.

“We are extremely proud to open this unique Creative Studio for our customers,” said Benoit Defforge, president ACJ. “Our ACJ TwoTwenty is featuring unmatched personal space with 785 sq ft of floor space. It is important to make them feel the space and ultimate comfort it is bringing. Thanks to latest technologies we offer our customers a real time and immersive design experience.”
