Textron appoints new Vice-President for Europe Sales

Textron Aviation has appointed Duncan Van De Velde as vice president of Sales Europe following the retirement of Tom Perry.

Van De Velde is rejoining the company from Textron’s subsidiary Bell Flight, having previously been regional Sales director for Textron in 2013, and director of Aftermarket Sales for Textron in Europe, Middle East and Africa from 2015 to 2018.

His position as managing director at Bell Flight, from 2018 to October this year, was based in Europe and Russia.

In his new role, Van De Velde will oversee the sales of Beechcraft and Cessna aircraft across Europe as well as leading the regional sales teams.

“We thank Tom Perry for his more than 25 years of service, industry leadership, commitment to growing and serving our customers and wish him all the best in his retirement,” said Lannie O’Bannion, senior vice president, Global Sales and Flight Operations, Textron Aviation. “Duncan brings nearly 30 years’ worth of aviation experience and is a valuable asset to this role based on his vast international experience and strong understanding of our European footprint and customers’ needs.”

Back in June, Textron achieved the National Air Transportation Association’s (NATA) Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses certification, in recognition of the company’s sustainability efforts. The company signed a 20-year contract with Evergy on its New Green Energy Program, which means landing gear, avionics and electronics can be recycled through the scheme.
