Nov. 16 marked the beginning of the second annual National Drone Safety Awareness Week (NDSAW), and the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) is thrilled once again to support this event in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration and the Know Before You Fly (KBYF) coalition. For each weekday of NDSAW, AUVSI will be hosting or co-hosting a virtual event.

“It is an honor to once again work with the FAA and members of the KBYF coalition to promote NDSAW, and be sure to tune in to as many events as possible throughout the week,” said AUVSI president and CEO Brian Wynne. “Let’s keep the safety conversation going past NDSAW!”
NDSAW highlights the importance of safely operating an unmanned aerial system (UAS), or drone. Safe and responsible operation of drones is a cornerstone of AUVSI advocacy, and NDSAW is the perfect opportunity to highlight the work being done by AUVSI member companies, federal and state governments, and members of the public to ensure a safe national airspace. This week is organized into six separate themes related to the safe operation of drones: Learn, Improve, Passion to Profession, Start a Program, In the Classroom, and Having Fun. AUVSI has organized webinars, interviews, and networking sessions in support of the program throughout the week, relevant to each daily theme.
