EHang signs trilateral MOU agreement with ADIO and MLG at DRIFTx “to develop eVTOL operations in Abu Dhabi and beyond”

EHang announced over the weekend (April 28th) at the DRIFTx Event in Abu Dhabi that the Company has signed a trilateral MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) agreement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and the leading Fintech group in the MENA region, Multi Level Group (MLG) , reports a press release. The aim is to drive eVTOL development in the UAE region and beyond.

EHang is aiming to set up its regional HQ in Abu Dhabi, UAE to promote business activities with local partners covering manufacturing, flight operations, research and development, as well as training and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facilities.

ADIO is to provide EHang with investment alongside a comprehensive range of growth-enabling support including:- 

- Providing data and information related to establishing and operating a manufacturing and industrial services business in Abu Dhabi. 

- To set up enablement and links with the Abu Dhabi ecosystem and international trade opportunities.

Meanwhile, the City’s new SAVI (Smart & Autonomous Vehicles Industry) supports “the innovation and commercialisation of smart and autonomous vehicle technologies in the UAE by providing state-of-the art facilities and value-added services within an enabling regulatory environment,” explains the release. 

This cluster is located in Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City and includes R&D laboratories. EHang will utilise the existing infrastructure within the City for trialling and certification, large scale workshops, hangars and manufacturing facilities.
