Eviation appoints Andre Stein as CEO

Andre Stein, the former head of Eve Air Mobility, has been appointed as CEO of Eviation Aircraft.

Stein (pictured above) arrives at Eviation after more than 25 years at Embraer where he co-founded Eve and served as CEO. He lead the Embraer E2 product and market strategy through certification, as well as the listing of Eve on the New York Stock Exchange back in 2022.

“Eviation’s mission to revolutionise aerospace couldn’t be more important or more urgent, and I am honoured to be joining the team,” said Stein. “I have long admired the Alice – it’s a beautiful and innovative aircraft that is leading the way in all-electric flight. I look forward to working with Eviation’s team to take Alice through the next phases of its development and bring it to market, so passengers everywhere can enjoy sustainable and convenient commuter air travel.”

Eviation has also brought in Jeff Hurford as chief financial officer. Hurford joins from Cirrus Aircraft where he was platform director of the SR1X programme. He has also held senior financial and programme management roles including 19 years at Gulfstream Aerospace.

“Eviation is entering an exciting period in its history,” said Hurford. “As we move ever closer toward certification and industrialisation of the Alice, I am thrilled to join Andre and the team to lead the aerospace industry’s transition to sustainability.”

Eviation’s nine-passenger Alice aircraft, is the only flight-proven all-electric commuter aircraft of its size after it first flew in September 2022. With orders now in excess $5bn, the firm is targeting certification and entry into service in 2027.
