Inteliport GO undergoes drone trial flights in Snowdonia

Inteliport GO Automated Drone Hub

UK-based Inteliports has unveiled its latest innovation, the Inteliport GO, an automated drone port which successfully underwent trialling earlier this year, reports a press release. This occurred at the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre in North Wales as part of its Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) tests.

Inteliport was recently founded by David and Dennis Majoe along with David Park. The company’s HQ resides in Southampton, Hampshire. CEO David Majoe is an architect who has worked on the Saudi Arabian NEOM project, planning how technology can be integrated into communities.

Inteliport GO aims to establish an automated drone port network spanning the entire United Kingdom. “This bold initiative,” says the release, “is poised to redefine aerial logistics, seamlessly connecting regional suppliers to communities through a cutting-edge, on-demand delivery system.”

During the trial, the Inteliport GO displayed advanced automation capabilities, particularly with its parcel loading rover. This feature allows for seamless integration with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The technology “ensures autonomous loading, retrieval, and charging for drones, thereby significantly reducing human intervention and enhancing operational efficiency,” continues the release.

David Majoe enthused, “The successful demonstration at the Snowdonia Aerospace Centre reaffirms the potential of such an automated drone port network in the UK. By enabling autonomous ground operations, we are opening doors to exciting opportunities across industries.”

Inteliports is partnering closely with regulatory bodies such as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), industry partners and innovation accelerators like Connected Places Catapult. This collaboration aims to ensure the safe integration of their drone logistics network around the UK.

The release explains, “The advanced automation capabilities of Inteliport GO, coupled with the establishment of a comprehensive drone port network, will empower businesses and organisations to harness the full potential of UAVs across diverse applications, from delivery services to infrastructure inspections, emergency response, and beyond.”
