Miami vertiport design challenge: “Are You Ready to Shape The AAM Future?”

Venture Miami

Burhan Sebin, Head of Research at Venture Miami, is busy on Linkedin, telling people about a new competition to design a vertiport. It is open to everyone, in particular, students.

Sebin writes, “We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Advanced air Mobility (AAM) Vertiport Design Challenge, a pioneering initiative set to revolutionise the future of Urban Air Mobility. This event is your opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainable aviation and urban development.”

He tells those who are interested to come along to the Philip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami on April 10th (4pm to 9pm), for an introductory session. “And win the prizes,” says Sebin, but it is unclear what these are.

He asks, “Why Attend?”

Innovate: Contribute to groundbreaking vertiport designs enhancing efficiency and safety for eVTOL Aircraft.

Collaborate: Engage with a diverse group of leaders from academia, the aviation industry, urban planning and government agencies.

Shape the Future: Help develop the regulatory framework critical for the integration of AAM into the City of Miami.

The Process: After the introductory session, form a team and come up with an innovative vertiport design. This is a 30-day challenge (ends on May 28th). On demonstration day, then show your masterpiece to a respected panel of judges representing federal agencies, industry and local government.

For a designer seeking a job in the AAM industry this could be a good opportunity. There will be potential sponsors and partners looking at the best vertiport designs.
