SkyDrive announced today at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023 that it has selected Avidyne’s Quantum Open Avionics Platform for its first production aircraft. Avidyne is based in Melbourne, Florida.
SkyDrive is developing its eVTOL aircraft to fulfil their vision of a future where everyone has access to eVTOL as their daily transportation. Designed to be flown by one pilot with two passengers on board for intra-city flights, it requires customised, certified avionics systems to enable its mission.
Avidyne was founded in 1994 with the mission of modernising avionics by applying advanced technology to improve safety and increase aircraft utility. For more than two decades, Avidyne claims it has been a market-leader in the design and manufacturing of easy-to-use integrated avionics systems for a variety of aircraft.

In addition to avionics solutions for the Advanced Air Mobility market, the company offers a full line of avionics systems for corporate, military, and owner flown piston and turbine powered fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
On Monday, SkyDrive and CT UAV, a subsidiary of CT Group in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam agreed on a pre-order of up to 100 three-seater eVTOL aircraft. SkyDrive was established in July 2018 after testing flying car concepts and prototypes from 2014.
