PAL-V has signed a letter of intent with Forum Group, the owner of Breda International Airport, to construct an assembly and delivery centre at the south Netherlands-based facility.
“We are excited to partner with Breda International Airport, a location that perfectly aligns with our vision of integrating air mobility into existing transportation networks,” said Robert Dingemanse, CEO of PAL-V. “As we edge closer to finalising certification, this facility will be crucial in ensuring that our customers experience the highest standard of service and support once they receive their PAL-V Liberty FlyDriving vehicles.”
The construction will form part of Forum’s strategy to turn Breda International into a “mobility innovation hub”. Since 2019, the airport already has served as the location for PAL-V’s FlyDrive Academy where customers of PAL-V can obtain their flight license ahead of delivery.
The new centre will support the build up to first deliveries of PAL-V’s FlyDrive vehicles. It will serve as a hub for final assembly, customer demonstrations, flight training and pre-delivery inspections.
According to PAL-V, the majority of pre-orders have come from professional use like first responders, NGOs and governmental use like policing and border control. The firm says it has filled the first three years of the initial production capacity.
Next to flight training, PAL-V will use Breda Airport as testing location for the further development of their PAL-V Liberty platform.
“Partnering with PAL-V aligns with our commitment to supporting innovative aviation technologies,” said Stef Have CEO of Breda International Airport. “We are proud to be part this groundbreaking development and look forward to playing a key role in the future of advanced air mobility.”
