Samson Sky, producers of the Switchblade flying car, announced last week it has started fundraising to support the production phase “of its high-performance flying sports car,” using the crowdfunding platform Wefunder as an initial step. The campaign marks a significant step forward for Samson Sky, after achieving its first flight of the Switchblade last November, reports a press release.

James Mauch, Samson Sky Board Member, commented, “Crowdfunding is commonly used as an early step in an overall campaign to raise large funds, but has the unique ability to allow many smaller investors the same opportunity as bigger investors have with new technology in early companies.”

While announcing this launch, Sam Bousfield, CEO and Designer of the Samson Switchblade, added, “Your investment does three things. It offers the chance for financial rewards and includes you in part of something both cutting edge and eco-friendly, as well as helping to usher in the future of transportation.”
