Ascendance announces “strategic partnership with Helipass”

Ascendance Flight Technologies

Ascendance Flight Technologies, a manufacturer of hybrid-electric eVTOL aircraft, announced this week it is collaborating with Helipass, a helicopter flight-experience booking platform, to develop the future of regional air mobility, reports a press release.

This partnership “will enable Ascendance to offer Helipass users a sustainable, low-carbon alternative, thereby enhancing the appeal of the platform to a broader customer base,” explains the release. It continues, “With ATEA, its hybrid eVTOL airplane, Ascendance offers up to 80 percent carbon emissions reduction, 50 percent less operating costs and 75 percent less noise than aircraft running on conventional fuel, with a range of 250 miles, compared to a traditional helicopter.”

Thibault Baldivia, Chief Commercial Officer for Ascendance, commented, “This collaboration allows us to develop our partner ecosystem and work with a leading player in helicopter flying experiences to promote the capabilities of our eVTOL aircraft in this segment. It is also a way to market and help make our aircraft available to operators and the public.”

The release adds, “Aviation is a fast-expanding sector, with global air traffic up 31.2 percent in a year, according to the latest report by the International Air Transport Association. It is also undergoing major changes to meet the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s goal of global carbon neutrality by 2050.”

Frédéric Aguettant, CEO of Helipass, remarked, “This partnership with Ascendance is a chance for us to offer our users new, more environmentally friendly ways to travel, by proposing an eVTOL model on our platform.” Adding, “We’re continuing our push into the new era of carbon-free flying.”

The ATEA aircraft will soon be bookable on the Helipass platform.
