Middle East: “Fifth ATWC to take place in Dubai during October”

The fifth annual AirTaxi World Congress (ATWC) is to take place in Dubai, UAE, from October 7th to 10th at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Conference & Exhibition Centre, reports a press release. The venue has 12,000 sq. metres event space along with onsite underground parking, drive-in loading bay and exclusive VIP Majlis (sitting rooms).

The World Congress is to highlight the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Industry “including an event within an event on October 10th,  a showcase that will host a selection of eVTOLs, eSTOLs, drones and next-generation aircraft at the Air Chateau Dubai Helipark, adjacent to Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International Airport,” explains the release.

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority recently issued Air Chateau with a certification to develop new vertiports and heliports to support regional air services in the UAE. The company also pledged to acquire 100 Midnight eVTOLs from Archer Aviation, as well as 10 flying taxis from Crisalion Mobility.

Mike Howarth, President of ATWC, commented, “We are looking forward to welcoming up to 1,000 delegates from all over the world. The event’s unique formula is all about conducting business and spurring on the rapid development of this emerging AAM industry.” Participants include the FAA, Electra.aero, Volocopter, Lilium, Rolls-Royce, Bristow Group, Korea Airports Corporation, Honeywell and United Airlines.

The four-day event will include various fireside chats with next-gen OEMs, complemented by workshops focusing on the critical role of regulators, airlines and airports planning future route network strategies together, plus the needs and future role of handling agents and infrastructure specialists.

The event begins with sessions on:-

: Airports of Tomorrow — Pioneering AAM Integration.

: Airlines and Operators — The New Reality.

: Regional Air Mobility versus Urban Air Mobility.

: Heavy Cargo Drones and Delivery Services as a New Market.

: USA, China, U.K and Portugal Markets.

The ATWC will once again arrange online scheduling in 20-minute slots, enabling airlines and start-up mobility operators, whose attendance is complimentary, to meet with representatives from OEMs, suppliers, operators, airports, vertiports and emerging urban networks, as well as potential business investors.

Howarth continued, “Since we’ve been running these events in Istanbul (2022) and San Francisco (2023), the AAM market has grown exponentially. There are now around 1,000 models in various development globally, together with a host of fixed-wing regional air mobility aircraft. In many ways, this is Back to the Future, with the same reasons and requirements for regional, point-to-point air travel, but this time, powered by vertical-lift technology, autonomy, AI and hybrid-electric propulsion. Observers have called this the third age of aviation, which is an excellent descriptor.”

The timing of this Dubai event falls directly after Routes World in Bahrain, giving international delegates a bonus opportunity to maximise their business trip and attend both.

Attendees also have an opportunity to join the ATWC “Immersive Tour of Dubai” with places available on a first-come, first-served basis. The welcome reception is sponsored by the Congress’ destination partner, Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
