Advanced Composite Structures (ACS) announced that Tim Starn and Justin Barnett have joined the ACS team as vice presidents of sales.

Mr. Starn will be responsible for developing business opportunities with first responder agencies, HEMS and commercial operators. Mr. Barnett will be focusing his sales efforts on large civil fleets for oil and gas customers.

Mr. Starn has over 20 years of aviation experience as a tactical flight officer and CFII. He served as a helicopter unit commander for the Costa Mesa Police Department and member cities in Orange County, California, where he supervised operations, maintenance, coordinated funding strategies, grant development, vendor selection, administered RFP’s and RFQ’s, and was a member of Homeland Security Div. 1A.

After his 31-year long career in law enforcement, Mr. Starn joined Uniflight Global as the vice president of sales and marketing, where he grew a large network of global operators throughout the aviation industry. Mr. Starn managed sales, marketing, and business development for MRO, leasing and Part 135 operations. He was also responsible for creating revenue forecasts, budgets, and oversight of the sales pipeline. 

Mr. Barnett holds a master’s degree in aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Goldey-Beacom College. Mr. Barnett has over 15 years of experience in the helicopter industry leading commercial, aftermarket sales and customer support teams for OEM and MRO service providers.

Prior to joining the ACS team, Mr. Barnett led the Commercial Department at Heli-One Canada where his team was responsible for MRO support bids, component work, pricing and PBH agreements. Previously, he led the Aftermarket Sales Department at MD Helicopters and the U.S. based Customer Support Department for AgustaWestland Helicopters.
