Aerolite announced that it received a U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) for a new Airbus H135 Helionix variant air medical interior.
This STC is for various lightweight medical interior configurations that were previously certified through the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
“This FAA STC is a big step forward as it incorporates the latest medical equipment and patient safety considerations,” said an Aerolite America spokesperson.
“The new interior provides crew members with better access and ability to maneuver while providing the best possible patient care. The modular concept allows for quick conversions to different medical transport missions. One of the new designs is the space-saving oxygen system providing 4,380 liters of gaseous oxygen.
“We would like to thank our launch customer STAT MedEvac and James Houser and his team for providing valuable inputs on many of the clinical, operational, and maintenance aspects throughout the design phase as well as the Airbus Helicopters team in Columbus, Mississippi, where the new interiors were installed and tested.
“We are excited to have received this STC as it allows us to deliver an updated interior for the latest generation of H135 helicopters.”
