The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) today announced Amandeep Kaler, Chief Executive Officer, Avcorp Industries as new Chair of the AIAC Board of Directors and Pierre Pyun, Vice President, Government Affairs, Bombardier as new Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors.

Elected at the November Annual General Meeting, Amandeep Kaler succeeds Rich Foster, Chief Executive and Vice President, L3Harris Technologies Canada.

“Amandeep and Pierre each bring a unique perspective and an unyielding drive to ensure this industry succeeds and thrives. Both long-time Board members and industry advocates, it’s my pleasure to welcome them as Chair and Vice-Chair.  There’s no doubt the global challenges and opportunities of the coming decades demand the very best of Canadian aerospace innovation and I’m pleased to have their support and commitment as we work to shape the future and ensure Canadian aerospace – spanning civil aviation, defence and space – leads on the global stage,” said Mike Mueller, President and CEO, AIAC.

“It’s my privilege to serve as Chair of this association, particularly as we continue our important work to advance industry initiatives such as the ecosystem gateway and the continued advocacy for a national aerospace sector strategy. Industry is looking for a new strategic partnership with government, just as other countries have established; One that provides clarity, certainty and predictability for innovation.  I’m committed to working in partnership with AIAC to ensure we retain and grow our Canadian talent, secure jobs for the future and lead in green, sustainable aviation,”  said Amandeep Kaler.

“On behalf of the entire Board and the staff at AIAC, I would also like to extend my appreciation to Rich Foster for his support, advice and wisdom. His extensive experience and dedication has been a valuable asset and I look forward to continuing to work alongside Rich as he remains a valued member of AIAC’s board,”  said Mike Mueller.
