Braya Renewable Fuels announced that it has successfully completed the refinery conversion project at Braya Renewable Fuels refinery formerly known as Come By Chance Refinery in Newfoundland and Labrador and began commercial operations.

The refinery will initially produce 18,000 barrels per day of renewable diesel, with future plans to expand production capacity, add sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production capabilities and explore green hydrogen production.
The on-site production of renewable diesel, SAF and green hydrogen will be used to help hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy-duty transport, aviation, and heavy industry achieve decarbonisation.
Earlier in April 2023, Braya Renewable Fuels has received a $300m investment from private equity investment firm, Energy Capital Partners (ECP).
The investment from ECP completed the financing for the conversion of Braya’s Come-By-Chance refinery in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada to low-carbon fuel and (SAF) operations.
