Clyde M. Woltman has been named the chief executive officer of Leonardo Helicopters U.S. Previously, he was president of United States Government business while based in Arlington, Virginia.

Mr. Woltman joined Leonardo Helicopters in June 2019 after serving as senior director of Defense Advanced Programs for Aerojet Rocketdyne. Previously he was the director of Navy and Marine Corps Programs for Pratt & Whitney, supporting the F135 propulsion system for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program.

Mr. Woltman is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, and the University of Paris Sorbonne with a Master of Arts degree in Geopolitical Studies.

Prior to entering the private sector, Mr. Woltman served in the United States Marine Corps. A career Marine and Naval Aviator, he served in multiple operational commands and staff assignments. During combat operations, he commanded the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit AV-8B Harrier Detachment, Marine Attack Squadron 311, and Marine Aircraft Group 13. Mr. Woltman flew more than 200 combat missions during Operations Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom and Iraqi Freedom II. In addition to seven operational deployments and combat tours, Woltman served as a Staff Officer at Headquarters Marine Corps Aviation and Headquarters Marine Corps Plans, Policies and Operations; as an Exchange Pilot with the Spanish Navy; a student at the French Joint War College and University of Paris Sorbonne; as a NATO Staff Officer in Naples, Italy; and as a Secretary of Defense Corporate Fellow with United Technologies Corporation.

Mr. Woltman is married and has two sons, aged 22 and 18.
