Confidential sources confirm acquisition of Pennsylvania based aviation company specializing in service to the Energy industry

Although yet to be officially confirmed by either company, Collective Magazine confirmed through multiple sources that Houston based Quanta Services, a fortune 300 company that lists itself as specializing in providing integrated infrastructure solutions for the electric power, oil and gas and telecommunication industries has finalized a deal of unknown value to purchase Pennsylvania based Haverfield Aviation, a well known and respected provider of helicopter services to energy companies, specializing in end-to-end inspection, maintenance, repair, construction and support services according to published information on the company website.

Haverfield Aviation, founded in 1981 and headquartered in Gettysburg, PA, currently operates a fleet of approximately twenty-three MD500 airframes, a Bell UH-1H Huey and one UH-60A Utility Hawk helicopter on contracts around the country, operating missions in the medium lift category, construction services and aerial tree trimming.

Houston based Quanta Services, founded in 1997 has grown to become one of the leaders in the energy market with annual revenue in 2017 stated as $7.4 Billion USD. The company employing more than 26,000 people around the world. Quanta Services in recent years has continued to expand its footprint in the telecommunications and energy sector, with goals set towards becoming and end to end provider of everything from providing energy services, to training those who work in the sector with the acquisition of the Northwest Lineman College in the first quarter of 2018.

Quanta Services is no stranger to the aviation sector and the advantages that helicopters provide to the inspection and repair segments in the energy sector. Quanta Services Oregon based subsidiary Winco Power has been providing aviation support to the energy sector since 1992 in the Pacific North West operating a similar, yet smaller fleet of MD500 aircraft, while also providing linemen to carry out any work required.

At the time of publication, Collective had reached out to both companies seeking comment on the sale but is yet to receive any official commentary on the sale of Haverfield to Quanta. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
