HAL signs MoU with Sika Aerospace for SAR, medevac & aerial firefighting

SIKA has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (“HAL”) to pursue strategic business cooperation in the Airborne Search & Rescue (“SAR”), Casualty/Medical Evacuation (“CASEVAC/MEDEVAC”), and Humanitarian Assistance & Disaster Relief (“HADR”) domains for aviation, aerospace and defence platforms.

The MoU intends to leverage the existing business relationship between HAL and SIKA, utilising each company’s respective strengths, to generate mutually beneficial business outcomes while providing state-of-the-art solutions to customers.

Further, the MoU envisages combining HAL’s experience in manufacture, integration, and upgrades of platforms together with SIKA’s expertise in supply and integration of SAR, CASEVAC, MEDEVAC and HADR equipment, and is consistent with the goals of the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative.

HAL, a premier aerospace company in Asia under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, is involved in design, development, manufacture, supply and maintenance of aircraft, helicopters, aerospace equipment, engines, and accessories.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Nikhil Dwivedi, General Manager, HAL Helicopter Division, and Mr. Kunal Sikka, Managing Director & CEO, SIKA Interplant Systems Limited at Bangalore on 14th February 2023 during the ongoing Aero India 2023.
