Heart Aerospace joins Regional Airline Association

Heart Aerospace joins the trade body Regional Airline Association (RAA) with an eye on helping to shape battery-electric flight policy.

As the leading trade association for the North American regional market, the RAA’s connections policy makers will give Heart Aerospace the insight and ability to help shape the evolving government policy discussions on battery electric flight, it said.

Anders Forslund, CEO of Heart Aerospace said: “We’re delighted to join the RAA and deepen our commitment to the North American market. We believe that electric and hybrid electric air travel, by offering lower operating costs, can enable airlines to restore and expand connectivity. And this can be achieved with significantly lower emissions compared to conventional aircraft and other modes of transport.”

Heart Aerospace is developing the ES-30, a regional electric aircraft with a standard seating capacity of 30 passengers driven by electric motors with battery-derived energy. With a fully-electric range of 200km and a hybrid range of 400km with 30 passengers. It can also fly as far as 800km with 25 passengers.

The Swedish OEM has a total of 250 firm orders for the ES-30, with options and purchase rights for an additional 120. The company also has letters of intent for a further 91 aircraft.
