Paris-based European investment company RIVE Private Investment has appointed Pauline Gasquet as its new head of Sustainability to boost its ESG (environment and social governance) expertise.

The appointment marks a significant milestone, according to RIVE, which has focused on two key investment areas: transportation and energy transition. Gasquet will oversee the operational implementation of the firm’s ESG strategy and improve its processes and procedures. Working with portfolio companies and partners, she will promote the business’s ESG culture and monitor and report the extra-financial performance of the funds to subscribers.

Yann Thomas and Étienne Mouthon, managing partners at RIVE said: “We are very happy to welcome Pauline Gasquet to our team. We are convinced that her expertise and experience will be valuable assets in achieving our ambitious sustainability goals.”

Gasquet is experienced in sustainable development consulting. Starting her career as a process engineer at VA Tech Wabag in India, she completed a thesis at the European Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Water Technologies. Before joining RIVE, Gasquet worked for Ansa Services, a specialised consulting firm focusing on funds in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and infrastructure sector. In that role she worked on the strategic transformation and environmental value creation of investment funds and their holdings.

Founded in 2013, RIVE has financed more than €2.4bn of assets through more than 100 transactions in about 20 countries.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Camille Brunel, partner at RIVE Private Investment told Helicopter Investor the specialised transport industry must attract more financial players to help the sector meet its investment needs – particularly related to decarbonisation goals.

RIVE is on track to raise €550m ($602m) for its RIVE Transportation Assets Income Fund (RTAIF), by 2025, he told us in January. The fund, which invests heavily in helicopters, is aiming to raise €300m over the next 24 months after raising €250m ($274m) since its launch in June 2021.

Pauline Gasquet is RIVE’s new head of Sustainability.
