Heli-One appoints new head of growth and strategy


Heli-One, a global provider of helicopter maintenance and support services, has announced the appointment of Colin Smith as its new head of growth and strategy. Smith will be responsible for development and execution of the Heli-One business strategy to cohesively bring its products to market, support customers and strategically position the company to grow its business.

Smith has over 30 years of aerospace and defense experience, including time as a U.S. Navy helicopter pilot, test pilot and maintenance officer. Following his military career, Smith worked for Bell Helicopter and Hendsoldt Inc., leading business development and program management.

Smith’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a master’s degree in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. Most recently, Smith gained his MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School Of Business.
