Helicentre Aviation to host Bristow Careers Days in May

Helicentre Aviation and Bristow believe in introducing future helicopter pilots to offshore and SAR careers at an early stage. Bristow Photo

Helicentre Aviation has announced it will be hosting three careers days in May with industry partner Bristow Helicopters. The careers days which will be held on the 15th, 16th and 17th May at its Leicester Airport base, are the first in-person careers events the Academy will have hosted on-site since the pandemic. Senior personnel from Bristow will be present, speaking to both prospective future aviators and existing pilots, enabling them to explore pathways into rotary flying careers.

The first day (Sunday) will be open to participants of all experience levels, with a seminar program and the opportunity to tour Helicentre’s training facilities. A limited number of introductory flying lessons will be on offer to those who have not previously flown a helicopter, and additionally a possible visit from a Bristow helicopter (subject to operational commitments).

Introducing future helicopter pilots to Offshore and SAR careers at an early stage is something both companies are eager to encourage. There is an ever-increasing shortage of suitably qualified helicopter pilots across the industry, and a lack of awareness surrounding the pathways into helicopter careers, despite the training sponsorships and scholarship initiatives both companies have invested heavily in for many years.

The second day of the event (Monday) provides an opportunity for student helicopter pilots already undergoing training at Helicentre to learn more about Bristow and the roles available once qualified. The final day (Tuesday) is for pilots already holding a professional license and looking to investigate career opportunities with Bristow, a global leader in vertical flight.

Due to demand for places, slots will be limited. To apply for a place please visit flyheli.uk/careers-days and complete a simple registration form. Successful applicants will be contacted with an allocated date and time.
