HeliOffshore’s mission involves identifying the right priorities and actions needed to transform frontline safety performance.

This mission only succeeds if the right people are identified to shape the safety and sustainability of our industry in the decades ahead.

HeliOffshore has created the HeliOffshore Safety Leadership Bursary to develop, support and encourage future leadership talent in the offshore aviation industry. It is an opportunity for members to take a fresh look at their organization and identify the colleagues who have the potential to be the safety leaders of tomorrow.

Tim Rolfe, chief executive officer, HeliOffshore, said: “We are enormously proud today to launch the HeliOffshore Safety Leadership Bursary. A clear takeaway from our Annual Conference 2022 was delegates’ desire to encourage future leadership talent.

“Leadership springs from many sources, and we have all benefited from the advice and opportunities provided to us. Now is the time to give something back to the safety champions who will steer the offshore helicopter industry through the years ahead. The safety bursary is our contribution to this important effort, and we hope it will inspire others to do the same.”

About the Safety Leadership Bursary Program

The Bursary provides funded places on one of the following programs to accelerate safety leadership within your business:

-The Giant Community’s Find your Giant Program
A one-year, CPD-accredited online network for leaders and those aspiring towards leadership, run by APS Intelligence and led by John Amaechi OBE. It uses e-learning, live events, and peer conversations in online forums to give delegates the skills and knowledge to bridge the gap between traditional leadership methods and the practices and behaviours that define authentic leadership.

-Learning from Normal Work Program
An e-learning course to help organizations implement the IOGP’s guide to learning from normal work in practice. Developed by the guide’s author, Dr Marcin Nazaruk, this program is designed to help organizations transition to proactive learning by looking into the factors during ‘normal work’ actions and events that could be the precursors of future accidents.

-A grant in support of another safety leadership program
