In long-awaited news for operators in Australia and the Asia-Pacific, HeliTSA has launched Airbus H135 Series airframe/avionics type training that encompasses both classic and Helionix systems.
The training format follows HeliTSA’s popular training model of covering an entire series in a single course. Engineers learn about both the H135 classic and Helionix systems, and the similarities and differences between them.
“By covering an entire series in a single airframe/avionics type course, we provide a more cost-effective training program, as students do not need to sit any additional training to attain their desired licences,” said Pep Sayabath, director of HeliTSA.
“This format also gives engineers a deeper understanding of the full spectrum of maintenance scenarios they will face, and provides more employment opportunities on the EC135.”
HeliTSA has launched this H135 training after consulting with operators in the region who wanted a local source of training.
“With HeliTSA gaining a reputation for world-class training, operators are now asking us to expand our suite of courses,” said Sayabath. “We’ve already run two EC135 Series type courses privately for operators, and 80 percent of spots for our first course sold out before launching publicly.”
Having also launched PW200 Series training late last year, HeliTSA now allows students to study both courses at one facility, making HeliTSA the only training provider to offer both of these courses.
“The unique thing about the EC135 aircraft is that it was released with two different engine variants: the Pratt & Whitney PW206B and the Turbomeca Arrius 2B,” said Sayabath.
“By developing an EC135 airframe/avionics course and a PW200 Series engine course, we’ve resolved some of the logistical and cost issues associated with using multiple training providers.”
In-keeping with the HeliTSA training model, students are taught by instructors who still work in the field regularly. This ensures they learn real-world skills and cover the latest maintenance practices across the Classic and Helionix systems.
The new H135 type course is CASA approved, with training held in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
HeliTSA will also run H135 Refresher training, as well as H135 Differences training for engineers who have a classic licence and need a H135 (Helionix) rating. These courses and the variants covered are as follows:
- B1.3/B2 Series course (P1, P2, P3, P3H, T1, T2, T3, T3H)
- B1.3/B2 Helionix Differences course (P3H, T3H)
- Refresher training
