Loft Dynamics is announcing a partnership with HMotion — a joint venture between Airbus Helicopters and ADAC HEMS Academy — through the delivery of two Airbus H145 VR flight simulation training devices (FSTDs), which will be installed at a new simulator center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany.

This modern training center will offer a wide range of cost-effective training courses for helicopter personnel, including the highest-quality mission and critical flight training available, enabled by Loft Dynamics’ cutting-edge technology.

Top-tier Training for Emergency Operators

Loft Dynamics is developing an Airbus H145 VR training device containing the simulator date package of Airbus Helicopters to accurately replicate functions and flight behavior.

As first customer, HMotion acquires the new Loft Dynamics virtual reality simulator, which represents the four-tons-class twin-engine helicopter H145. The state-of-the-art technology offers features that allow pilots to perform proficiency checks (LPC and OPC) and to receive training credits for the relevant type rating, including normal flight procedures and emergency situations.

Pilots can practice instrument flying and train towards instrument ratings. This revolutionary and compact training solution also allows pilots to practice demanding flight maneuvers and realistic mission training in a safe environment, benefiting from the profound know-how of ADAC HEMS Academy.

Innovative Simulator Training Center for H135 and H145 Helicopters

“I am thrilled to announce HMotion’s groundbreaking collaboration with Loft Dynamics, a pioneer in compact VR training devices,” says HMotion CEO Steven Igodt.

“This partnership signifies a commitment to excellence, as Loft Dynamics’ cutting-edge technology aligns seamlessly with HMotion’s philosophy. As we embark on this journey, Loft Dynamics becomes an integral part of our larger vision to establish a state-of-the-art simulator training center for H135 and H145 helicopters in Oberpfaffenhofen. This marks the beginning of HMotion’s ambition to become a trendsetter in the world of flight simulation, setting a new standard for innovation and training in the aviation industry.” Ulrike Hofmann, CFO of HMotion adds: “This agreement does not only represent the beginning of a long-term partnership between HMotion and Loft Dynamics. It will also significantly contribute to increased flight safety and sustainability within the helicopter training environment.”

A Comprehensive overall Crew Training Concept

HMotion and Loft Dynamics have agreed to develop a training concept based on virtual reality technology to train pilots in both single and multi-crew concepts.

In the future, a helicopter hoist operation module will enable entire flight crews to realistically practice normal and emergency procedures. The concept helps to acquire fundamental skills and develop competencies through challenging scenario-based training sessions.

Compared to other technologies, the VR approach with its 3D view and immersive training environment, offers unparalleled quality in reproducing the real world. The entire system, including a highly dynamic six-degrees-of-freedom motion platform and a full replica cockpit, makes pilots feel as if they are flying a real helicopter.

“Realistic simulation is a key factor in achieving the required training benefits,” says Fabi Riesen, founder and CEO of Loft Dynamics. “I’m pleased that one of the most renowned training academies has selected our cutting-edge technology to provide high-quality crew training, making flight operation even safer.”
