Outerlink introduces Air IP

Outerlink introduced a true broadband connection for helicopters in the form of their new product, Air IP.  The solution combines Outerlink’s traditional satellite-based asset tracking with the most innovative solution for delivering up to 100 Mbps throughput over Wi-Fi to crew and passengers.

Air IP provides simple, single-point Wi-Fi access to multiple users at one time. Using patented bonding technology that maximizes bandwidth and bonds multiple networks together, Air IP maintains uninterrupted service for an endless amount of use cases.  From email and virtual meetings to accessing important presentations or easily streaming videos, the seamless connection offers full coverage for the aircraft.

Additionally, users can stream secure live video over VPN connections and distribute the feed to designated IPs. Outerlink Air IP allows law enforcement or medical personnel to receive HD video directly from the helicopter without large and costly satellite antennas and fees. Air IP also contains FirstNet capable hardware that can be interfaced with multiple other networks.

More than just the next generation of Outerlink’s rugged CP-3i satcom, Air IP will be fully integrated into the innovative IRIS monitoring and communications system, introducing a new level of helicopter connectivity and live access for air medical and law enforcement crews. Outerlink’s new Air IP works across networks in virtually any country, offering a solution to support a global fleet of helicopters.

Heli-Expo attendees are invited to get more information from Outerlink and see the Air IP product at the Metro Aviation Booth (#7736), located near Airbus.  The Air IP will also be on display at the Sterling Helicopter Booth (#4021), located across from Bell.
