RTCA brings industry together to address AAM safety, integration and framework needs

Earlier this year, RTCA launched a series of workshops for industry and government participants to address the framework and system requirements of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) needed to support future aviation flight operations. The purpose of these ongoing workshops is to develop industry consensus around capabilities needed to ensure the integration of new entrants and legacy operations in a safe and efficient manner.

“The focus on the flexibility of and collaboration between industry and regulators for developing airspace and physical infrastructure requirements underscores RTCA’s strategic importance as a vital link for consensus building,” said RTCA President and CEO Terry McVenes. “Maximizing possible gains to everyone while being fixated on the safety of the NAS highlights RTCA’s value of gathering leaders and stakeholders together to address aviation’s most pressing challenges.”

Upcoming workshops include an AAM Working Group meeting at AUVSI’s XPONENTIAL on May 10 and a Concept of Operations workshop at RTCA on May 23. For more details on previous and future workshops, visit RTCA’s Advanced Air Mobility webpage.

As part of RTCA’s regular webinars series, there’s a new 3-part AAM webinar series with interviews and discussions from subject matter experts on topics including concept of operations, safety and security, spectrum, digital flight operations and more.

The next webinar is Safety and Security in AAM on April 19.
