SAF Training Academy and Azur Helicoptère merge as X-Aero Training Academy

SAF Training Academy and Azur Helicoptère have announced the creation of X-Aero Training Academy, a helicopter training center combining the expertise and approvals of the two European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved training organizations (ATO) of SAF Aerogroup.

Ten years after the creation of SAF Training Academy and three years after the acquisition of Azur Helicoptère by the SAF Group– now SAF Aerogroup following the acquisition of Starlite Aviation– the two training centers merged to reunite expertise, simplify the commercial offer, and provide a simpler contact point for customers and partners, private and public.

The unification process of the EASA ATO approvals and regulatory validation is underway with the authority in order to soon deliver under the same certificate all the training courses currently supported by SAF Training Academy and Azur Hélicoptère. A transition period has been launched to ensure the regulatory continuity of the running pedagogical action.

This change also includes FSTD operations with the two AS350 B3+ and EC135T2+ FFS simulators.

Thanks to this unification and covering almost all the single pilot training courses of the the AirCrew on the following aircraft: R22, R44, Cabri G2, AS350/EC130, AS355, EC/H135, EC/H145, and AW 109,

X-Aero Training Academy has the ambition to become a European and world leader in helicopter training.

On the international level, in addition to the EASA offer, an active synergy has been initiated with Starlite Aviation Training Academy to diversify the training offer and content.

This press release was prepared and distributed by SAF Training Academy.
