Sheltair Aviation has sold its two remaining New York FBO sites to Modern Aviation.
The sale of the FBOs at Republic Airport (FRG) and Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK) completes the deal made in 2021 to sell all five of Sheltair’s New York bases to Modern Aviation.
The agreement has now received all government approvals and Modern Aviation can immediately take over the operations.

Holland added that by retaining Sheltair’s former staff, the FBO will ensure a “seamless experience for passengers and pilots” as well as “outstanding professionalism”.

Sheltair said the decision to leave the New York market would aid its growth in other parts of the country as part of its national strategy.
The sale follows recent moves in the FBO market in the US including Atlantic Aviation’s merger with Ross Aviation in July and Signature Aviation’s acquisition of TAC Air in July. This week, Execujet announced it was reopening its FBO in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands.
