The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) announced that they will host the second annual Aviation Safety Stand Down Conference at South Carolina Aeronautics in Columbia South Carolina on May 3, 2023, from 7:45 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sponsors include Airbus, CNC Technologies, Dallas Avionics, Tactical Flying and Trakka.

Sr. Pilot, Aviation Safety Officer and Special Agent Cory DeArmitt is the show organizer for the SLED. “The purpose and idea for hosting this event is to bring valuable training to the operators at zero cost to them. We are excited to host this free event for law enforcement agencies and other operators. Last year we had about 100 people attend the event, and we are anticipating the same level of attendance this year,” said Agent DeArmitt.

Because of the sponsors, the event remains free to attendees.  Breakfast and lunch are included.

“We are always committed to advancing safety initiatives that keep operators safe,” said Manager of Helicopter Programs for Dallas Avionics Kenny Hall. “We sponsored last year, and the content and speakers did a great job.  We are honored to help support this event again.”

Space is still available for attendees. Attendees can fly in or park at South Carolina Aeronautics. Speakers and topics include Dr. Dudley Crosson speaking on Delta P and retired SDPD Phil Cady on Tactical Flying.   To reserve space email cdearmitt@sled.sc.gov by April 30th
