Spectrolab, Inc. is introducing its newest Nightsun airborne searchlight at HAI Heli-Expo 2024 in Anaheim this week.
The Nightsun SXP-10 features a new innovative searchlight design which builds on more than 50 years of high intensity searchlight design and manufacturing heritage. State-of-the-art solid-state Laser Excited Phosphorus (LEP) lighting technology was combined with the latest in manufacturing techniques to produce the new design.
The Nightsun SXP-10 was developed to fill the gap in the mid-to-large high intensity searchlight segment. SXP-10 will provide users intense dual mode (visible/infrared) light output with the ability to interface with other on-board mission systems, electrical-optical and thermal imaging camera systems and displays.
For more than 50 years, Spectrolab, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boeing, has been designing and manufacturing high-intensity searchlights for military and commercial customers around the world with its Nightsun series of high-powered searchlights for use on helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
