This Memorial Day weekend Sweet Helicopters safely chartered over 300 passengers to and from the Indianapolis 500, “the greatest spectacle in racing,” breaking previous records for passengers transported. Sweet Helicopters is the official helicopter services provider for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and has been safely transporting passengers to and from the racetrack since 2017.

“It was quite an undertaking,” said Randy Sharkey, director of operations at Sweet Helicopters. “Our charter flights were so popular this year we added a new TSA gateway departure point for our guests and we still sold out of tickets!”

Guests could depart from four different locations in the Indianapolis area and be transported to the track in a matter of minutes, missing heavy race day traffic and long lines. Flights started in the morning to the track and ran until the start of the race, then started up again following the green flag until the evening to be returned to their departure locations.

This year guests could register online and be checked into their flights digitally, without the need for paper tickets.

Sweet Helicopters is under contract with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to provide management services for all helicopter operations on the property for the Indy 500 and other special events throughout the year.
