Swiss Helicopter is the first helicopter company in Switzerland to reach Level 1 of the Swisstainable sustainability program.
It was already clear at the beginning of the year the company is serious about its sustainability strategy: since Jan. 1, 2023, Swiss Helicopter has been carrying out all passenger flights with carbon dioxide compensation.
Swiss Helicopter is moving towards sustainability step by step. By using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and offsetting unavoidable carbon dioxide emissions, the company has been operating CO2-compensated passenger flights since the beginning of 2023.
Climate-compensated flights are also possible for transport flights and in flight schools. Where it makes sense, company vehicles should also be converted into electric cars in the future and the hangar buildings should be equipped with solar systems.
Thanks to these efforts, Swiss Helicopter became the first helicopter company in Switzerland to reach Level 1 of the Swisstainable sustainability program.
“This is a great starting point for our sustainability strategy,” said Rolf Heuberger, CEO of Swiss Helicopter.
“Of course, our goal has not yet been achieved – with Swisstainable Level 3 in mind, we want to continually develop and meet our customer needs even better.”
