Asia Jet Partners Malaysia has successfully obtained its 9M Malaysian commercial aircraft operating certificate (AOC) from the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia; enabling it to become the country’s first commercially registered private-jet operator.

Last December, Asia Jet Partners obtained an Air Services Permit (ASP) from the Malaysian Aviation Commission Malaysia (MAVCOM). The ASP in conjunction with the AOC allows the company to become a private jet operator.

“As we enter our fifth year and under new ownership, our investors are very supportive of growing our charter and managed fleet and bolstering our maintenance capability,” said Stutijn van Till, Asia Jet Partners Malaysia CEO, in a statement on Monday. He also confirmed that the company is taking delivery of its second Bombardier Global Express 5000 this spring. It will join the existing Global 5000, available for charter from Subang’s Sultan Abdul Aziz Shan Airport.

“We are looking to establish a suite of business aviation services in Malaysia that will rival the excellent facilities at Seletar in Singapore,” van Till adds.  “Mature South East Asia business hubs such as Hong Kong and Singapore are becoming congested and expensive.  Our goal is to deliver a first-class experience for private jet companies coming into Subang, supported by modern facilities and excellent infrastructure.”

The Asia Jet Partners CEO is attending the Singapore Air Show this week (February 11th to 16th), a show that is offering a slimmed down line-up of aircraft on display amidst fears over the outbreak of Covid-2019. More than 15 aircraft were on display at the first Singapore Air Show in 2008, this year only Dassault and Honda are displaying. Gulfstream and Textron have both pulled out of this year’s airshow as has the manufacturer of Asia Jet Partners’ new aircraft, Bombardier.
