American Helicopter Museum to host Haunted Helicopters event

Halloween hijinks come to West Chester as the American Helicopter Museum and Education Center (AHMEC) is hosting Haunted Helicopters on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. AHMEC will fill its gallery with ghosts, ghouls and goblins galore for an early All Hallow’s Eve event.

“For the first time ever, visitors to the museum will see our helicopters piloted by skeletons and overtaken by spiders,” said Allison Titman, AHMEC’s executive director. “Volunteers in costumes will man treat stations throughout the museum for trick-or-treaters. One helicopter will even offer a slightly spooky walk-through experience!”

The fun evening will also feature Halloween stories and movies, ghostly music and an entertaining craft activity for kids. Locust Lane Brewery and Chaddsford Winery will offer seasonal beverages for adults (additional cost, proof of age required).

“Haunted Helicopters will be a fun, family-friendly event that will give our guests the chance to enjoy themselves and to see the museum in a new way,” Titman added. “Come in costume and celebrate Halloween with us.”

Admission is $10.00 for children and students under age 18. Admission is free for accompanying adults. Purchase tickets at the door or online at www.americanhelicopter.museum.

AHMEC, located in the land of industry innovators in the Philadelphia region, is the nation’s premier aviation museum devoted exclusively to helicopters. Established in 1996, the nonprofit organization collects, restores and displays rotary-wing aircraft, including over 35 civilian and military helicopters, autogiros and convertiplanes.
