The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the U.S. Helicopter Safety Team (USHST) place critical emphasis on flight data monitoring for documented safety benefits. The EIT Avionics FODR is a high-performance data recorder designed to meet 14 CFR part 135.607 helicopter flight data monitoring requirements.

With FODR, even single ship operators can implement flight data monitoring safety improvements and reduce costly operational errors.

The FODR unit weighs 1 pound, and is easy to install. Twenty-four air data, rotor and engine parameters are automatically recorded five times per second. GPS is recorded once per second. Data capture is permanent, time/date stamped by flight, and retrievable by USB to your laptop. Monitoring is easy with free data viewing software provided — no need to review hours of video post flight.

Uniquely, FODR interfaces with ESAID, a display and annunciation device, to enhance in-flight situational awareness of critical parameters.

Initially, FODR and ESAID will be STC’d for the Robinson R44 Raven II, with additional models following soon.
